For best results in sound quality, we highly recommend one to two tunings a year in the home. More tunings are naturally needed for music schools. In North America, and specially in Canada, our pianos go through a wide range of temperatures and humidity variance changes which cause the soundboard to move and moreover the strings to stretch.

The installation of a Dampp-Chaser humidifying/dehumidifying system ensures the tuning's stability, as well as increased protection for the pinblock and soundboard. (For more information on this feature, see the Dampp-Chaser section).

Les Pianos André Bolduc offers a large variety of services for individuals and institutions. On our next tuning visit to your home or music institution, we will be happy to submit a free proposal for regulation or repair work. Whether the instrument is new or old, we will submit an offer that will respect your budget. Considering the price of new pianos today, it is best to envision a repair which will, in many cases, represent a smaller investment than the purchase of a brand new piano.

For almost 25 years, Les Pianos André Bolduc has been restoring pianos for concert halls, music conservatories, and major Canadian universities. We invest in the training and specialization of our staff so as to offer a unique product, adding value to our Canadian lumber. A large number of European and Asian manufacturers entrust their pianos onto us for guarantee warranty repairs, rather than returning them to their countries of origin.

Following damages caused by fire or water, we will submit a detailed document listing the necessary repairs. In case of major damage, we can replace the piano with an equivalent model. We have been working with insurance companies for 20 years, and we have earned a trusted reputation their trust. Our fast and friendly service always keeps your best interests in mind.

A few years ago, replacing a pinblock was nearly unheard of in Quebec. Yet, the practice is an important step in piano restoration. Even to this day, few rebuilders will venture to replace major parts of a piano. Our expertise, equipment, and knowledge allow us to offer this service to the public, as well as to rebuilders. Piano technicians consult our establishment to complete the reconstruction steps, all the while reserving themselves to the tasks that require less specialized equipment.

The soundboard is a central element in the making of a piano: it is the amplifier and the very soul of the instrument. The piano's projection depends immensely on the soundboard's quality. The latter amplifies the strings' vibrations and harmoniously distributes the frequencies to offer a rich and equilibrated sound. Therefore, it is absolutely essential for the soundboard to be in perfect shape so as to reliably transmit an ample and generous tone. An aged and fissured soundboard is no longer able to serve the piano adequately.

To allow institutions, music schools, and individuals to invest in an important piano repair or in the purchase of a new instrument, we offer personalized financing plans. Find out more from our staff.
